Managers who can code: Bachelor in Management and Artificial Intelligence at Kozminski University + test

Students working together on a laptop

Companies need managers who understand both people and algorithms: someone who can read a business problem, talk to a data team and write a few lines of Python when needed. Kozminski University in Warsaw built a three-year undergraduate programme around exactly this mix, combining management with programming, machine learning and big data, taught fully in English – and at the end you can check whether this profile suits you.

⇑A rare combination

The Bachelor in Management and Artificial Intelligence is a three-year undergraduate programme conducted entirely in English at Kozminski University in Warsaw. It is offered only in full-time mode, with classes from Monday to Friday, in the mornings and afternoons.

The university describes it as a rare but very necessary combination of management knowledge with programming skills and data analytics. The goal is to educate managers who are increasingly in demand on the labour market: people who understand business and, at the same time, know how new technologies work and how they affect society.

⇑What graduates are expected to know

According to the programme description, students develop:

  • business skills,
  • knowledge of new technologies, in particular artificial intelligence, and their impact on society,
  • knowledge of quantitative, qualitative and mixed research methods,
  • programming competencies in several languages, with a strong emphasis on Python and R,
  • knowledge of machine learning techniques used in business.

⇑Two pillars of the curriculum

The study plan is built on two groups of courses. The AI-related block includes, among others, Big Data and Algorithms, Introduction to Python and Machine Learning, Statistics for Machine Learning, Advanced Python, Advanced Machine Learning, Methods of Data Visualization, Social Networks Analysis with the use of API, Cloud Infrastructures and Generative Artificial Intelligence for Managers.

The management block covers Principles of Management, Principles of Finance, Critical Thinking, Project Management, Digital Marketing, Introduction to Innovation Management, Human Capital Management, Foresight, Microeconomics and Macroeconomics. Elective courses let students follow their own interests.

⇑Learning by doing

From the second semester, students work in groups on a start-up or implementation project supervised by university specialists. During their studies they also obtain a certificate confirming completion of a Python programming course and a certificate from a basic machine learning course.

Courses in generative AI for managers and agile digital product design teach how to use AI in business decision-making and how to design solutions for a fast-changing market. Students also learn tools for multidimensional analysis of digitalisation processes and for handling large volumes of data.

⇑Beyond the classroom

The programme is run in cooperation with strategic partners from the industry, which helps keep its content in line with the job market. The coordinator mentions partnerships with companies such as Huawei, Oracle and Microsoft. Students interested in technology can join the Kozminski AI Club, a student organisation that works on real-life projects, organises networking events and guest lectures, and supports founders of start-ups.

High-achieving students may also apply for a double degree programme with a partner university, including Luiss University in Italy, and receive diplomas from both institutions.

⇑Who is it for

The programme suits students who enjoy both analytical work and teamwork, are curious about how technology changes organisations and are not afraid of coding. It is a good fit for those who want to understand business models of the digital economy and see data as a tool for making better decisions.

⇑Career prospects

Graduates can work as data analysis specialists, in consulting (especially IT consulting), in managerial positions in corporations or as digital transformation specialists. Possible employers include production and service companies, banks, insurance and telecommunications companies, public administration, data analysis research centres and digital economy organisations such as e-commerce firms and start-ups.

⇑Summary

The Bachelor in Management and Artificial Intelligence at Kozminski University is an English-taught programme for future managers who want to combine business thinking with programming, machine learning and big data. Current admission requirements and fees are best checked on the university website, as they may differ between intakes.
