Global companies need people who understand markets, money and logistics, but also know how to work with colleagues from very different cultures. The International Business Bachelor’s Degree at the University of Gdańsk is designed exactly for that: a full-time, English-taught programme at the Faculty of Economics that combines economics, management and international trade with practical software skills and study abroad options — and at the end you can check whether a career in global business suits you.
International Business is a full-time bachelor’s programme run by the Faculty of Economics of the University of Gdańsk. It lasts three years, or six semesters, and is taught entirely in English. The degree grew out of the faculty’s long experience with specialised programmes in this field.
The programme prepares graduates to work in culturally and linguistically diverse teams, which is a skill that matters in almost every international company.
The curriculum includes a broad set of business topics. Students learn about:
The goal is to analyse international economic and social phenomena professionally while staying sensitive to cultural differences. Students also develop their foreign language skills to a high level, both in speaking and in writing.
Some classes are taught together with business practitioners and industry experts. This means that theory is regularly confronted with real company problems, not only with textbook examples.
A distinctive feature of the degree is hands-on work with specialised programs used in various industries. Students work with SAP for logistics, LSEG Eikon for economic data analysis, and Statistica and SPSS for statistical analysis. They can also obtain an international certificate in the London Stock Exchange Group Eikon Lab computer laboratory.
The faculty provides free access to Microsoft and IBM software, including Microsoft Office 365, SQL Server, Project Professional, Visual Studio, Visio and IBM SPSS. Classes take place in modern lecture halls, classrooms and fully equipped computer labs.
In practice, this means that graduates do not only understand business concepts, but can also work with the same tools that analysts, logistics teams and financial institutions use every day.
International experience is built into the programme. Students can take part in Erasmus+ exchanges and, through bilateral agreements, study in partner countries such as the USA, China, Japan, Australia and Korea. The faculty also offers a Double Degree Programme with Parthenope University of Naples.
Outside the classroom, students can join student organisations, scientific clubs and international networks such as AIESEC.
The University of Gdańsk lists a wide range of roles for graduates. Among them are:
Graduates can also start their own businesses focused on global markets, or continue their academic development at master’s level. Admission rules, required documents and fees are published separately by the university, so it is worth checking them directly before applying.
The degree suits students who are curious about how global markets work, enjoy working with people from different backgrounds and want to use English as their everyday working language. Interest in economics, numbers and other cultures is a good starting point.
International Business at the University of Gdańsk is a three-year, English-taught bachelor’s degree that combines economics, management, finance, marketing and logistics with intercultural skills. Professional software, classes with practitioners and many ways to study abroad make it a practical choice for students who want to build a career in international companies.
