Geopolitics is a specialisation within the International Relations programme at Lazarski University in Warsaw, taught in English over two years of full-time master's studies. It gives you the analytical skills to read a changing world order and to judge where the next risks will come from.
The curriculum covers:
Geostrategic tensions, armed conflicts, shifting alliances, energy crises, migration pressures and climate change are reshaping the international order, and public administration, diplomacy, international organisations and the private sector all need people who can interpret these processes. The specialisation answers that need with interdisciplinary, interactive teaching. In the first year you study energy security and sustainable development, globalisation and regionalisation, and the foundations of geopolitics. In the seminars you choose from topics such as China and the world, geopolitics and the global economy, and open-source intelligence (OSINT).
Assessment follows professional practice in geopolitical analysis: policy briefs, debates, presentations, research papers and collaborative projects, not only exams.
You can find internships in embassies, intergovernmental organisations and international institutions, and the university's internship portal lists opportunities related to your studies. The Debate Club, the Negotiation Club and the Student Foreign Affairs Club let you meet diplomats, industry professionals, alumni and other experts.
