Economics is a two-year, full-time master's programme taught in English at Lazarski University in Warsaw. It is for graduates who want to deepen their economic expertise with a global outlook and move towards analytical, advisory and decision-making roles in international organisations, financial institutions or multinational companies.
The programme goes beyond bachelor's-level foundations and develops advanced analytical and research competences. You examine economic issues in an international context, refine the way you work with data and strengthen your capacity for independent analysis.
The curriculum combines intermediate and analytical microeconomics and macroeconomics with international macroeconomics, data analysis, research methods, the theory of economic growth and development, and a thesis seminar in the last semester. Classes rely on case studies, simulations and real business and economic data. Electives such as behavioural economics and financial crime prevention let you shape the path towards your own interests. The first semester starts with mathematics for economists, the history of economic thought and commercial law.
In the second year you choose two option modules from a list that includes:
The degree opens doors to roles in finance, public policy, international development and academia, and prepares you for more advanced positions. Typical careers include economist, investment analyst, risk manager, actuary and scientific researcher. Studying in Warsaw also gives you international exposure and a chance to build a global network among ambitious students and professionals.
Did you know? As a student you also get free access to the Coursera e-learning platform, with courses on topics such as workplace communication, leadership and analytical thinking.
