Jagiellonian University in Kraków (UJ) runs Business and Finance Management at the Institute of Economics, Finance and Management of the Faculty of Management and Social Communication as a two-year (four-semester), full-time master's programme taught in English, with a general academic profile. It is aimed at graduates who want advanced theoretical and practical knowledge of management and plan to work in international companies or public-sector institutions.
The core modules cover:
Classes take place in the faculty's modern building on the 600th Anniversary Campus in the Ruczaj district of Kraków. It has well-equipped lecture and seminar rooms, computer labs and a faculty library whose collection is regularly updated with new books in Polish and English. The faculty also cooperates with business and offers double-degree options with European universities.
English as your working language: the whole programme is taught in English, so you need a sufficient command of English when you register, and you graduate with business English at C1 level, specialist management vocabulary and the ability to communicate, negotiate and persuade fluently in English.
Kraków has for years been one of the most attractive locations in the world for companies providing outsourcing services, and a growing number of organisations look for graduates who feel at home in international firms and use English as their business language. Local organisations competing on international markets need people with similar skills.
Graduates are prepared for specialist, middle- and senior-management, advisory and consulting positions in international organisations, and can also organise and lead teams. Further options include doctoral studies, e.g. at the Doctoral School in the Social Sciences, or postgraduate programmes at the faculty.
Did you know? The faculty runs its own student TV station, UJOT.TV, and student radio, UJOT.FM.
