1. A traditional manufacturing company wants to go digital but doesn’t know where to start. What do you do first?

I map its processes, identify where digital tools would add value and build a roadmap with quick wins and long-term goals. I recommend buying a popular software system. I wouldn’t know, and I wouldn’t want to get involved.

2. Employees resist a new digital system because they fear for their jobs. How do you handle it?

I treat it as a change management challenge – I involve them early, communicate openly, plan training and show how their roles will evolve. I push it through – they’ll get used to it. It’s not my concern.

3. How do you feel about assessing whether AI or process automation makes business sense for an organisation?

Very interested – I’d look at costs, risks, data readiness and expected benefits before any decision. AI is the future, so I’d simply adopt it. It doesn’t interest me.

4. IT and management disagree about moving key systems to the cloud. How would you help?

I’d analyse security, compliance, costs and scalability and present the options to both sides in terms they understand. I’d side with whoever seems more senior. I’d stay out of it.

5. How would you measure whether a digital transformation project has succeeded?

I’d define indicators at the start – process times, costs, customer satisfaction and user adoption – and track them over time. I’d check whether the system was installed on time. I don’t think it can be measured.

6. The programme is taught in English, in an international group with varied professional backgrounds. How do you see that?

As a strength – transformation projects are often international, and I’m comfortable leading discussions and writing reports in English. Reading is fine, but discussing complex topics in English is harder for me. I’d rather study in my own language, with people from my own country.

7. You’re asked to write a thesis on how digital platforms are reshaping a whole industry. How do you feel?

Motivated – I’d review the research, gather case studies and draw conclusions that are useful in practice. I’d do it, but I prefer practical work to research. I’d try to avoid it.

8. Different departments keep the same customer data in separate, inconsistent systems. What do you propose?

A data strategy – shared standards, clear ownership and system integration so the data can be trusted across the organisation. I’d ask each department to tidy up its own data. Nothing – it works somehow.

9. Which future role sounds most like you?

Leading transformation programmes as a manager, consultant or chief digital officer. Some role in a company’s IT or business department. Something outside business and technology.

10. What motivates you most to pursue a Master’s degree in Digital Transformation?

The chance to lead organisations through technological change and connect strategy, people and digital tools. A Master’s degree with a modern-sounding name should help my career. I’m not sure it’s for me
