Agriculture is a full-time, English-taught Bachelor's (B.Sc.) programme run by the Faculty of Agriculture and Economics of the University of Agriculture in Krakow (URK). It lasts 7 semesters (3.5 years) and is meant for students who want a broad grounding in agriculture and agricultural technologies, with room to lean towards horticulture, livestock or economics.
The syllabus builds on essential general subjects such as botany, chemistry, plant physiology and economics. On top of these come thematic modules covering technical subjects, the bases of agriculture, agricultural production, horticultural production, livestock production and agricultural economics.
Each module combines lectures, seminars and lab classes, and about one third of all courses are optional, so you can shape part of your programme yourself. Groups are small, which makes for individual working relations between students and teachers, and your progress is assessed on your active participation in and contribution to the classes.
The whole programme is taught in English, and it also gives you the opportunity to learn Polish language and culture.
