Cybersecurity is a specialisation within the Computer Science programme at the Polish-Japanese Academy of Information Technology (PJAIT). It is for people who want to learn how IT systems are attacked, defended and investigated.
You study the security architecture of IT systems, types of threats and attacks and their countermeasures, the construction of operating systems, applications and networks, and the basics of cryptography. You also learn to program in Python. The specialisation subjects, Cyber Security Incident Analysis and Digital Forensics, deepen the compulsory course on information systems security, and a project in Designing Secure IT Architectures runs through the final semesters. Recommended electives cover testing the security of IT systems and web application security.
Graduates are prepared to:
Classes are mostly held on the HackingDept e-learning platform. They are interactive and based on complex, realistic examples, so you prepare, study the possibilities and look for the best solutions.
The platform is prepared by experienced pentesters, security researchers and programmers, members of leading Polish teams in international security competitions, and its materials are updated with newly identified threats and standards.
You can work as a security analyst, pentester, security architect, SOC analyst or DevSecOps specialist, in technology companies, banks and public administration. Sample thesis topics include reconstructing a ransomware attack from system logs, analysing the TLS 1.3 protocol and auditing cloud service configuration.
