Dlaczego warto studiować w Sopockiej Akademii Nauk Stosowanych
Why study it:

International Business is a specialisation within the Economics programme, a bachelor's course at the Sopot University of Applied Sciences (SANS), taught entirely in English and available full-time and part-time (hybrid). It is for you if you want to make operational and strategic decisions in an organisation and gain international experience while you study.

Programme: decisions, finance and international markets

The specialisation focuses on the most important decision-making problems in organisations, the principles of economic analysis and the IT tools that help you optimise decisions. It lets you gain education, work experience and language skills at the same time, together with knowledge of economics and finance and skills that matter in the modern business world.

You get to know the financial mechanisms of the international and domestic market economy, its institutions and business entities. The programme puts particular emphasis on how international business operations work, and on the cultural, economic, political and legal aspects of doing business on a global scale. Courses include analysis and visualisation of business data, international financial markets, international logistics, international marketing, modern business models, assessment of the profitability of investment projects and project management.

Languages: a course fully in English

Everything is taught in English. The specialisation is a modern way of personal development built around international experience, so you build your language skills alongside your knowledge of economics and finance.

After graduation: careers in international business

The specialisation prepares you for a career as a specialist or advisor, including:

  • working in various positions in multinational companies
  • running your own business in European markets, in connection with the global market
  • managing a small or medium-sized company involved in international exchange
  • conducting research on international markets and interpreting the results in enterprises of different sectors

⇑Definitions and quotes

Business
Business is the activity of making one's living or making money by producing or buying and selling goods or services. Simply put, it is "any activity or enterprise entered into for profit. It does not mean it is a company, a corporation, partnership, or have any such formal organization, but it can range from a street peddler to General Motors." The term is also often used colloquially (but not by lawyers or public officials) to refer to a company, but this article will not deal with that sense of the word.
International
International mostly means something (a company, language, or organization) involving more than a single country. The term international as a word means involvement of, interaction between or encompassing more than one nation, or generally beyond national boundaries. For example, international law, which is applied by more than one country and usually everywhere on Earth, and international language which is a language spoken by residents of more than one country.
International Business
International business consists of trades and transactions at a global level. These include the trade of goods, services, technology, capital and/or knowledge.
Business
I believe that leaders and leadership teams working together in a proper design will run the business more effectively than by hierarchical, command-and-control managing. But I can't prove that. And there are no models.
Marvin Bower (1966) The Will to Manage p. 7.
Business
All businesses operate below their true potential. That is unavoidable, given the fallibility of human beings.
Robert Heller, British management journalist and author. 'The Competitors', Chapter 10, The Decision makers (1989).
Business
[A Jew] should make Torah his principal occupation and his work his casual one. He should minimize his business pursuits and occupy himself with Torah. And he should remove fleeting pleasures from his heart, and work each day enough to maintain himself. ... The rest of the day and night, he should occupy himself with Torah.
Rema, Shulchan Arukh, Yoreh De'a, 246:21, in "Separation from the Worldly (Perishut)"
