Game Development at Collegium Da Vinci in Poznań is a Bachelor's programme taught in English. It is for people who are passionate about games and want to understand how they are made: mechanics, worlds and stories.
The programme responds to the needs of the growing game industry. It stresses project-based teamwork and portfolio building, and combines programming, design, graphics and sound with elements of production and testing.
You learn to create a game from concept to a working prototype, design gameplay and mechanics, work with modern game engines, test prototypes and improve them, and design player experience with the target audience in mind. You also build narrative and atmosphere, write project documentation, prepare game presentations and use tools including VR. Core modules include game design, game programming, game art, game animation, game audio, AR/VR experience design and a game production workshop.
There are no rigid specialisations. You choose elective modules, and the programme page describes three typical areas:
Internships are an essential part of studying at CDV. The university's Career Office helps you reach cooperating companies, where you apply your knowledge, verify your skills and establish professional contacts. You gain experience on real projects and watch more experienced professionals at work.
