Event Manager – also called Event Organisation Specialist on the university's page – is a specialisation of the bachelor's degree in Management at Akademia WSB-NLU in Nowy Sącz, six semesters of full-time study on campus, Monday to Friday. It is for people who like being among crowds, cope well under pressure and want to organise sports events, concerts, fairs, conferences and public speeches.
Alongside the basics of economics and organisation, you study:
Skills in brief
The programme was created by experts and practitioners in event organisation, and you are taught by people who run large-scale events every day. You also take an active part in organising events connected with WSB-NLU – sports events, cooking workshops, charity fundraisers and interactive themed meetings – so you see the backstage side while still studying. Dedicated case studies teach you creative and quality supervision of an event.
English and Polish language classes are part of the specialisation – foreign-language proficiency matters when planning, coordinating and delivering events.
You can start as an event organisation assistant or junior events specialist and go on to work as an event manager, wedding planner, or organiser of concerts, sports events and trade fairs.
Industry events and press conferences are another option.
