1. You’re using an AI chatbot. What interests you most about it?

How it works inside – how it learns and why it sometimes gets things wrong. How I can use it for studying. I don’t really think about it.

2. Do you enjoy coding, or would you like to learn it properly?

Yes – I already write my own programs and want to build more advanced things. I’ve tried a bit and I’m curious what comes next. No, coding doesn’t appeal to me.

3. How do you feel about maths – algebra, probability, functions?

I like it, because I know machine learning algorithms are built on it. I get by, though it’s not my passion. I avoid it whenever I can.

4. You have an idea for an app that identifies plant species from a photo. What do you do?

I look for sample data and tutorials so I can try training a simple model of my own. I look for an existing app that already does it. I drop the idea – it’s too complicated.

5. Documentation, courses and articles on AI are in English, and you’ll build projects with people from different countries. How do you feel about that?

Great – I already learn from English sources, and working in an international team is good preparation for the industry. I’ll manage, though discussions in English make me a bit nervous. I’d rather study in my own language.

6. Your program isn’t working and you don’t know why. How do you react?

I hunt for the bug step by step, test my hunches and don’t give up until I find the cause. I try for a while, then ask someone for help. I abandon the project.

7. You hear that an AI system used to screen job applicants rated certain groups of people lower. What do you think?

That the training data may be to blame – an AI engineer has to check for that and design fair systems. That it’s unfortunate, but it’s the developers’ problem. That computers are objective, so it was probably right.

8. Which appeals to you more: coming up with an AI model, or making it work reliably in a real app used by thousands of people?

Both – I want my solutions to actually work for real users. Just coming up with it – I’d leave deployment to others. Neither, really.

9. AI is changing incredibly fast. How do you feel about constantly learning?

I love it – I follow what’s new and try out new tools myself. I learn when I have to. I prefer fields where knowledge doesn’t change.

10. What motivates you most to study AI Engineer?

Wanting to design and deploy AI systems that solve real problems. Curiosity about how artificial intelligence works. I’m not sure it’s for me
