Mechatronic Engineering at AGH University of Krakow is a first-cycle engineering programme taught in English by the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Robotics. It suits students who want an interdisciplinary background in mechanics, control, electronics and computing, and who plan to design, build or run mechatronic systems.
The curriculum moves through three layers:
The whole programme is taught in English, so alongside technical mechanics, automation and microprocessor systems you also develop your language skills – and learn to communicate with engineers from other fields while solving complex practical problems.
Mechatronic Engineering at both Bachelor and Master level has received ABET accreditation. Its stated educational objectives range from progressing to Master's studies to working collaboratively in multidisciplinary environments and committing to lifelong learning.
Graduates are prepared to work in interdisciplinary teams that design, manufacture or use mechatronic systems – in design units and design offices focused on mechanical or mechatronic systems, in research and development institutions, and in companies that make or use mechatronic devices. The programme also aims to prepare you for experimentation and testing of mechanical, mechatronic and control systems, in industry or academia.
You can continue at Master's level – the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Robotics runs a second-cycle Mechatronic Engineering programme – or at other faculties and universities in Poland or abroad.
